- A+ converts to 4.33 — above your college's 4.0 cap.
- Every graded attempt counts: if you retook a course, BOTH grades enter the calculation.
- Academic forgiveness / grade replacement at your school has no effect on the LSAC GPA.
- Pass/fail, withdrawals (W), and incompletes are not included unless punitive.
Frequently asked questions
- Why is my LSAC GPA different from my transcript GPA?
- Two rules cause most gaps: LSAC counts every graded attempt (a forgiven or replaced F comes back into the math), and A+ converts to 4.33 instead of being capped at 4.0. Mark forgiven courses in the table and the calculator shows both numbers side by side, with the delta.
- Do withdrawals or pass/fail courses affect the LSAC GPA?
- Standard W grades and pass/fail courses are not included. Punitive withdrawals (WF) that your school treats as failing are converted as F. Select P or W in the grade menu and the row is excluded with a note.
- Which courses does LSAC include?
- Every undergraduate course taken before your first bachelor's degree appears in the calculation — including community-college and transfer credits, whether or not your degree school counts them.
