Frequently asked questions
- How is a university GPA weighted by credits?
- A 5-credit A lifts your GPA more than a 1-credit A. Each course contributes grade points × credit hours; the GPA divides total quality points by total credit hours. The worked table shows both totals.
- How do pass/fail courses affect my university GPA?
- A P earns credit toward your degree but carries no grade points, so it is excluded from the GPA. Select P in the grade menu and the calculator notes the exclusion.
- Can I calculate a semester GPA and a cumulative GPA?
- Yes — enter one semester's courses for a term GPA, or your full transcript for cumulative. For a running combination, enter earlier work as one row using your credits-so-far and average grade equivalent.
